Run - 0.5 hours - 02/28/2008
So I rested yesterday, and ran this morning… Warmed up properly before running.. and I didn’t feel any pain while I ran. I did the 3 miles and then upper body strength.

General Cardio - 0.5 hours - 02/26/2008
I did the eliptical cross trainer today… to stay off the knees a bit… that was okay, I felt no pain. I also did some strengthening execises… but I’m thinking I did someting wrong there, cuz my knee hurt after that. In any case I’m definitely looking into seeing a doctor about this.

Pain woes…
I’m starting to maybe sorta like running… maybe. But I’m definitely not loving the knee pains I’m getting. I quit running years ago because of the way it killed my knees (plus I graduated college and didn’t need to run anymore, as I was no longer on a team)… and now the pain’s coming back. Not sure what course of action I need to take, though. When I was on the team I had a trainer and coach who told me what exercises to do or whatever… Now do I go to a doctor? What kind of doctor? Should I do exercises or just ice it or rest it or what? Je ne sais pas..
Also I’m starting to feel my shins too… I used to get bad shin splint years ago, but I’m feeling it a little bit now, and my big toe also hurts… all this on my right leg. My left leg’s okay so far.. what could I possibly be doing to my right leg?

Wall…
I had to run in the evening today, not my favorite thing to do after a super long busy day. And of course I hate the rush hour crowd, who always seem to be hogging my “special treadmills”.. but unlike Monday, where I actually waited (for about 20 minutes) for one of the specific machines to become available, I put it in my mind, that it’s no biggie, I can run on any machine since it’s all mental… well any machine that is not positioned directly in front of a wall…That’s just mental!!! It’s bad enough I have to run on a treadmill for 30 minutes (not the most interesting thing to do), but to do it front of a wall, is just so not happening for me. So again, I did have to let a few people go ahead and take those while I waited for better positioned one to become available. I think people think I’m weird.. or maybe I think I’m weird. But I did my run all the way through, even though it was a real struggle.
By the way a good and motivating song for running - Push It To The Limit - from the Disney movie Jump In!! Hey, it helps me anyway.

I had been on a roll there for a good week or so, running 3 miles each session. But since I had late night visitors who just before their departure woke up my munchkin, who decided she then did not want to sleep at 1:30 AM and proceeded to keep me up with her… I’m lucky I made it to the gym at all this morning, but not at 6:30 like I usually do.
Ever notice that there’s a different caliber of “exercisers” who workout in the morning as opposed to after 5pm. The morning crowd are definitely more serious… they get in..do what they do and they’re out (Maybe I’m biased since I’m one of them). The evening crowd (I only go then when there was no way to get there in the morning), well forget it, it’s like happy hour with them, so much more socializing than exercising going on… it’s all very interesting.
Anyway, so I did my two miles and I was out, since I had to get to work, I couldn’t spend more time.. but at least I did something!!
